High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU)
Is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment using the power of deep ultrasonic waves to stimulate collagen and elastin.
HIFU-treated skin starts to produce more collagen, offering tightening. HIFU helps to lift tissue without downtime or side-effects. We use ultrasound on mild and moderately sagging and loose skin, with no prerequisites for treatment.

FAQs
WHAT HIFU TREATMENTS FEEL
Ultrasonic treatments can be a little uncomfortable, like a prickling feeling.
This sensation will pass quickly, and it means the treatment is working.
You will feel a warm sensation, which will be more intense around bony areas and the eyes.
Comfort will rely on the settings used and the outcome you want, with more intense treatments increasing the discomfort during the ultrasonic pulses.
Settings are designed to suit your skin type and the area being treated.
Thicker skin tends to see the least discomfort.
WHY WE LOVE HIFU
With HIFU, you see an immediate tightening result that just keeps getting better over time. You get an instant lift, but the results will really start to appear over the coming two or three months as collagen production increases.
There are no special after-care routines to follow – just walk-in and walk-out tighter and smoother. HIFU is non-invasive and there are no injections.
We use your own body’s natural tightening abilities to tighten skin, with nothing artificial in your body. Results can last from 18 months up to two years, depending on skin before treatments and other factors.
HIFU is considered a very safe and effective tightening strategy. The device protects your skin from damage, while penetrating deep into the layers to stimulate your natural healing response and collagen production.
HOW DOES HIFU DIFFER FROM RADIO FREQUENCY OR LASER
HIFU can go deeper than radio frequency, to the more structural elements of your skin and tissue. While other energy-based treatments are very useful, the deep tightening and rejuvenation effect of HIFU is outstanding.
DOWNTIME AND RECOVERY OFHIFU TREATMENTS
HIFU is a walk-in walk-out procedure – perfect lunchtime treatments. There are no after-care instructions and you don’t need to do anything to benefit.
You are likely to experience some redness immediately after procedures, but this will dissipate in a few hours. Other temporary side-effects may include some slight swelling or tenderness.
IS HIFU BETTER THAN A FACELIFT
HIFU is not a replacement for a facelift, but it is a great alternative for anyone who wants facial tightening. A facelift is a surgery, while ultrasound is a non-invasive clinic-based treatment.
We can sculpt your face and neck very effectively with targeted procedures, stimulating collagen and rejuvenating your face for a more youthful look. HIFU can be part of your regular anti-ageing routine.
HOW HIFU WORKS
HIFU skips the surface to get deeper, where it can truly effect change in tissue. The ultrasound device is specifically calibrated so it provides even ultrasonic waves at a very specific temperature, to the right depth to trigger collagen production.
The heat from the ultrasonic waves causes fibroblasts to produce collagen more abundantly, which naturally firms skin.
WHEN WILL YOUR CLIENTS SEE RESULTS
You may see an initial immediate tightening effect, but the best is yet to come. Collagen production is a natural process that takes several months after stimulation, with the initial tightening due to the heat slightly shrinking the collagen that is already there.
The new collagen produced will start to tighten and lift a little more each day, however individual results will vary due to ability to produce collagen (usually related to age), skin condition, and any lifestyle factors that contribute to or detract from strength and elasticity.
WHEN TO REPEAT HIFU TREATMENTS
How many treatments you need will depend largely on how your tissue looks and feels when you come in initially. More sagging means more treatments to get the desired effect. As we age, we naturally produce less collagen, which may mean more stimulation by the device is required for greater tightening.
You may only need between one and four treatments, however over time you will need maintenance procedures to keep the effect, since we age and collagen production returns to normal.
